Young Auckland Rugby League players have the chance to attend the renowned JETS Camp in April.
The JETS (junior, educational, training system) Camp is open to boys and girls between the ages of 12-17, and will be held over three consecutive days from April 5, at Camp Adair in Hunua.
Auckland Rugby League football development officer Viggo Rasmussen said the camp is being staged later in the year, to coincide with the start of junior club league in Auckland.
“It’s an opportunity for players to get some quality coaching and exposure to new ideas, before they head into their respective club seasons,” Rasmussen said.
“It’s the second year we have been able to open the camp up to female players as well, so we encourage girls to get involved, particularly ahead of the launch of new female-specific junior grades in 2019.”
The camp, which focusses on developing rugby league skills and understanding of the game, costs $150.00 per player, which includes catered meals for the whole weekend, accommodation and all camp activities.
Now in its 32nd year, the camp boasts a list of graduates which includes current professional players Jason Taumalolo, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and Ben Murdoch-Masila.
Our club is offering a scholarship to one of our GREYHOUND players and is seeking expressions of interests for the JETS Camp scholarship. If this is something you are keen to attend, we want to hear from you. Don't miss out on this great opportunity.
